Black stands for solidarity
Blue stands for loyalty
Gold stands for superiority
White stands for purity
Red stands for courage

The crown stands for the superiority of the PDT over all other drill teams. The seven stars stand for the seven Marines who founded the PDT. The sabre over the rifle stands for the commander over the ranks. The cannon ball stack stands for firmness and solidarity. The shape of the board represents a military crest.
